8Capitals joins the 8Apps suite (#34) of productivity apps sharing the same elegant simplicity design philosophy.
8Capitals is a simple comprehensive reference to world capitals and also has a game aspect for lighter moments.
- 250+ Capitals. The Capitals table shows countries, capitals and micro-icons of flags sorted by country name, sectioned with alpha prefix and with an alpha index for quick access.
- Capital View. The detail Capital view displays the country, a flag image (a bit sharper when iPhone/iPad is in Landscape mode) and a map highlighting Capital location. Tap the (i) button for a pop-up with more info.
- Country Codes. The countries and corresponding capitals are coded by their 2-letter ISO-3166 country code.
- Country Names. Country names are based on the built-in iPhone/iPad Localized Name attribute related to the 2-letter ISO-3166 country code.
Guess-the-Capital Game. A simple game: you are shown a view header of a Capital name and 3 flag images with country names. Tap the flag/country image you think relates to the Capital name. An alert shows if correct/wrong with a simple score underneath.
